PSALM 7
¹O Lord my God, lift up Thy countenance upon me, and hearken unto my supplication; for my soul is bowed down with grievous burden, and mine enemies compass me about like ravening wolves seeking to devour.
²Look upon my affliction, and make haste to deliver me; for my cause is righteous, and mine heart cleaveth unto Thy statutes without deceit.
³The wicked lay snares before my feet, and their tongues are full of guile; they seek to ensnare my soul in the meshes of unrighteousness, yet Thou art my refuge and fortress in the day of trouble.
⁴Arise, O Judge of all Ivalice, and render to the proud according to their deeds, that they may not exalt themselves above the innocent nor oppress the poor with impunity.
⁵Consider the travail of the meek and lowly, whose cries ascend as incense before Thy throne; let not their cries be in vain, but bring forth Thy salvation as the dawn bringeth light.
⁶For they who do evil take counsel against the upright, and plot destruction against them who walk in the paths of holiness; but Thou art the shield of those who put their trust in Thee.
⁷Deliver me from the hand of the cruel, and break the rod of the oppressor that it smite no more; let Thy justice roll as a mighty river, cleansing the land of all unrighteousness.
⁸Teach the nations Thy ways, that all flesh may learn Thy statutes and walk humbly before Thee, that none may glory save in Thy name alone.
⁹Let the wicked be confounded in their pride, and their devices be brought to nothing; but establish the cause of the righteous, that they may dwell in safety beneath Thy wings forevermore.
¹⁰Thou art my rock and my fortress, my deliverer in whom I trust; lift up my heart above the tumult of Ivalice, and grant me peace amid the tempest of adversaries.
¹¹For the innocent shall rejoice in Thy judgments, and the upright shall sing praises unto Thy name; yea, the tabernacle of the just shall flourish, and their seed shall be blessed forever.
¹²Let not the counsel of the ungodly prevail against Thy people, nor their pride rise as a wall against Thy truth; but let Thy mercy compass them who seek Thy face.
¹³Remember the covenant of old, O Lord, and the faithfulness of Thy promises unto Thy servants; strengthen the hearts of those who wait upon Thee, and uphold the cause of the meek.
¹⁴For though the wicked flourish for a season, their end is destruction; but the heritage of the righteous is life everlasting and peace unending.
¹⁵Let the nations praise Thee, O God, and let all peoples declare Thy wondrous works; for Thou art the just Judge and the merciful King.
¹⁶My soul cleaveth unto Thee, O Lord, in whom is all my hope; let me not be ashamed in the day of trial, but be Thou my shield and exceeding great reward.
¹⁷O righteous God, behold my cause and vindicate me, that I may walk before Thee in the integrity of my heart, and proclaim Thy goodness all my days.
¹⁸Let the voice of the oppressor be silenced, and the song of the redeemed resound throughout Ivalice, praising Thy holy name.
¹⁹For Thou art the God of justice and mercy, slow to anger and plenteous in lovingkindness, and Thy judgments are truth and righteousness for evermore.
²⁰Therefore will I trust in Thee, O Lord, and sing of Thy salvation; for Thou hast delivered my soul from death, and set my feet upon the rock of everlasting hope.
