PSALM 19
¹Sing unto the Lord a new song, for He raiseth up prophets in the time of need.
²Blessed is Jorah, the herald of wonders, who walked not by sight, but by the Spirit.
³He came not with sword nor sceptre, but with the breath of truth upon his lips.
⁴The blind he comforted with hope, the lame he lifted with his words, the leprous he made bold in faith.
⁵For he said: The Son of the Most High shall come with healing in His hands.
⁶He shall open the eyes of them that see not, and unstop the ears that are closed.
⁷The dead shall hear His voice and rise; the sea shall bow before Him.
⁸He shall touch Ivalice, and the withered shall blossom; He shall command the storm, and it shall cease.
⁹These things spake Jorah before they were done, and the nations marvelled.
¹⁰But the proud were filled with wrath, and the princes gnashed upon him with their teeth.
¹¹Silence this voice, said they, for it stirreth the people to hope.
¹²And they laid hands on him, and cast him into the pit, and mocked his name.
¹³Yet he prayed for them that cast stones, saying: Lord, remember them in mercy.
¹⁴His body they broke, but his testimony stood unshaken; his blood cried from the ground.
¹⁵I go unto my rest, said he, but the Son shall walk among thee, and thou shalt see Him with thine eyes.
¹⁶Then did a trembling take the hearts of them that heard, and they wist not what they had done.
¹⁷The Lord remembered Jorah, and clothed him in light; He wrote his name upon the stars.
¹⁸Let all generations remember him, who foretold the power of the Son and died in peace.
¹⁹His voice is as a trumpet yet, echoing through the mountains of the faithful.
²⁰Give glory to the Lord, who declareth His wonders through the lips of His martyrs. Amen.
