PSALM 4
¹O Lord, the Maker of all things, who stretched out the Heavens like a curtain, and laid the foundations of Ivalice firm and sure, Thy wisdom is beyond measure.
²The mountains praise Thee with mighty voices, and the hills proclaim Thy holiness; the rivers and streams declare Thy bounty, and the seas show forth Thy power.
³Thou hast arrayed the sky with countless stars, and set the sun to rule the day; the moon taketh her place in the night, to mark the times appointed by Thee.
⁴All creation singeth of Thy glory, and Ivalice is full of Thy riches; the beasts of the field and the birds of the air rejoice in Thy presence.
⁵Thou hast made the valleys deep and the hills high, and watered Ivalice with springs from Thy hand; the grass groweth green, and the flowers bloom in the season.
⁶Thy voice is heard in the thunder, and Thy breath maketh the storms to rise; the lightning shineth forth Thy splendour, and the clouds declare Thy counsel.
⁷O Lord, how great are Thy works! Thy hand hath wrought wonders beyond number; the seas tremble at Thy command, and the mountains skip like rams.
⁸Thou settest the boundaries of Ivalice, that it should not pass beyond Thy will; the waters are gathered together in their place, and the dry land appeareth.
⁹The creatures of the deep hide themselves in the caverns, and the birds fly high in the firmament; all serve Thee with gladness and fear.
¹⁰Thou art the Creator of all things, the Author of life and breath; none can stand before Thee, and none can resist Thy counsel.
¹¹The flowers fade and the grass withereth, but Thy word endureth forever; the Heavens shall perish, but Thy mercy shall not fail.
¹²Thou upholdest the weak, and liftest up the humble; the proud are scattered, and the wicked are consumed.
¹³When I consider the works of Thy hands, my heart trembleth and my spirit is filled with awe; how great art Thou, O Lord, and how marvellous are Thy ways!
¹⁴Thou hast made man a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honour; Thou hast given him dominion over the works of Thy hands.
¹⁵The beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fishes of the sea are under his feet; all things obey Thy voice.
¹⁶O Lord, let me walk in Thy ways, and keep Thy commandments; let my soul delight in Thy statutes, and my heart be fixed upon Thy law.
¹⁷Let me never forget Thy wondrous works, nor cease to praise Thy holy name; for Thou art my refuge and my strength, a very present help in trouble.
¹⁸Blessed be the Lord forevermore, who made the Heavens and Ivalice, and who reigneth in glory forever; His faithfulness endureth unto all generations.
¹⁹Let all creation bless the Lord, and all the inhabitants of Ivalice praise Him; for He is good, and His mercy endureth forever.
²⁰Praise ye the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name; for He hath done great things, and His wonders are without number.
