PSALM 12
¹Rejoice, O my soul, and be not cast down, for the day of the Lord draweth nigh, and His Anointed cometh in splendour and might.
²Ivalice hath groaned beneath the weight of iniquity, but the Heir of righteousness shall appear, and all things shall be made new.
³The stars in their courses prepare the way, and the firmament declareth the glory of His rising.
⁴Who shall abide the day of His coming? and who shall stand when He appeareth? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap.
⁵Yet shall He gather the lambs in His arms, and gently lead them that are with young; His mercy shall cover them as the dew.
⁶Let the watchers keep their watch upon the walls, and let the people be vigilant in prayer, for the King cometh to dwell among men.
⁷He shall enter not with trumpet and blade, but with truth upon His lips, and healing in His hands.
⁸The blind shall see, and the dumb shall sing; the lame shall leap as the hart, and the captives shall go free.
⁹For the Son is sent of the Father, full of grace and judgment, and His reward is with Him.
¹⁰The proud shall be cast down, and the crooked made straight; He shall walk among the lowly and lift them up.
¹¹A rod shall spring forth out of the root of holiness, and His banner shall be peace upon the mountains.
¹²They that sit in darkness shall behold a great light, and the shadow of death shall be scattered as mist before the dawn.
¹³The Lord shall take delight in His servant, and shall glorify Him with many signs; the nations shall see it and be astonished.
¹⁴Let every isle and far coast hear and rejoice; let every desert and waste place break forth into singing.
¹⁵For the time of waiting is shortened, and the fullness of days is come; the Lord shall perform all His promises.
¹⁶O sing unto the Lord a new song, and lift up thy voice with gladness; for the Son of Glory draweth near.
¹⁷His steps are sure upon the hills, and His shadow shall be as a great rock in a weary land.
¹⁸The people that know His name shall rejoice in that day, and the house of the Lord shall be filled with praise.
¹⁹He shall sit upon the throne of His Father, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end; righteousness and peace shall kiss one another.
²⁰Let all who wait for Him lift their eyes unto the east, and cry: Come, Lord, come quickly, and tarry not!
