PSALM 17
¹Give glory unto the Lord, O ye Heavens; sing aloud, all ye stars of the firmament.
²For He hath founded the deep places, and laid the cornerstone of the world with His wisdom.
³The light goeth forth at His command, and the morning knoweth her rising by His word.
⁴The winds are His messengers, the fire and the storm do His bidding.
⁵Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high, and yet regardeth the lowly?
⁶He lifteth the poor out of the dust, and setteth him among princes.
⁷He filleth the hungry with good things, and causeth the barren land to rejoice.
⁸The mountains quake at His voice, and the seas fall silent before Him.
⁹He draweth out the path of the sun, and numbereth the stars by name.
¹⁰His hand upholdeth Ivalice, and His breath giveth life to all that moveth.
¹¹He teacheth wisdom unto the simple, and openeth the ears of the righteous.
¹²The proud He casteth down, but the meek He crowneth with light.
¹³Mercy and justice are the girdle of His loins; truth goeth before His face.
¹⁴Blessed be the Lord, who watcheth over His people, and forgetteth not the work of their hands.
¹⁵From age to age He is the same; and of His years there is no searching.
¹⁶The idols of the nations are as wind and smoke, but the Lord abideth for ever.
¹⁷Let all Ivalice fear Him; let the isles rejoice and the fields be glad.
¹⁸The beasts of the forest and the fowl of the air proclaim His greatness.
¹⁹Let every breath praise the Lord, and every tongue sing of His goodness.
²⁰Glory be to the Lord most high, who reigneth from everlasting to everlasting. Amen.
