PSALM 2
¹Greatly to be desired is the dwelling of the Lord, yea, more than the choicest gold or the rarest gem.
²For in the courts of His Paradise is found peace unbroken, and joy that faileth not nor is dimmed by shadow.
³The gates thereof are not shut by night, neither barred by day, for no enemy draweth near unto that holy land.
⁴The city of God is founded upon righteousness, and its walls are salvation, and its streets are paved with the mercy of the Most High.
⁵The tree of life standeth in the midst of it, and its leaves are for the healing of the nations.
⁶Every tongue that entereth there confesseth the glory of the Lord, and every knee is bowed in gladness and not fear.
⁷The voice of lamentation is heard no more, nor the wail of the mourner, nor the bitter cry of the forsaken.
⁸The Lamb reigneth from the throne, and all creation worshippeth Him with unceasing praise.
⁹They that suffered for His name are clothed in white, and their reward is as the sun in its strength.
¹⁰From the least unto the greatest, from the child unto the elder, all are satisfied, and none shall hunger again.
¹¹He that was poor shall have treasure unmeasured, and she that was bowed low shall be lifted up in honour.
¹²The cup of wrath is emptied, and the hand of judgment is stayed; only the cup of blessing is passed from soul to soul.
¹³The knowledge of the Lord filleth the land, as water covereth the depths of the sea.
¹⁴Every face is turned to the light, and the shadow of the former world is remembered no more.
¹⁵The songs of the saints ascend like incense, and the breath of the redeemed is sweet before His throne.
¹⁶They speak not in the tongues of confusion, but in one voice they proclaim the holiness of the Son.
¹⁷Their works do follow them, and their names are written in the book of the living, never to be erased.
¹⁸O Lord, when shall I behold Thy Paradise, and walk with Thee in the cool of that eternal morning?
¹⁹Lead me in paths of faithfulness, and let not my name be found wanting when the books are opened.
²⁰For Thy Kingdom is life everlasting, and Thy presence is the joy of all generations without end. Amen.
