PSALM 15
¹Hearken unto me, O Lord, and behold the strife that is upon Ivalice; for my soul is vexed with the wicked who oppress the innocent and magnify themselves in pride.
²The hearts of men are grown cold, and truth hath perished from among the children of men; their lips speak deceit, and their hands are stained with unrighteousness.
³Save me, O God of my salvation, and uphold my cause before the eyes of the unjust, that they may not triumph over the upright in their arrogance.
⁴The proud have laid snares for the feet of the faithful, and their tongues are weapons sharpened to wound without cause; yet Thou art the refuge of all who call upon Thy name in truth.
⁵Arise, O Lord of hosts, and let the ungodly be scattered as chaff before the wind; let their counsel be confounded, and their plans brought to naught.
⁶For Thou art the stronghold of the afflicted, a bulwark against the tempest of the wicked, and a refuge in the day of trouble.
⁷Preserve the heritage of Thy saints, and let not the inheritance of the meek be consumed by the hands of the violent; but establish their footsteps upon the rock of Thy faithfulness.
⁸Let the voice of the righteous be heard in the congregation, and their prayers ascend as a sweet savour before Thy throne; for their cause is just and their hearts are pure.
⁹Cast down the pride of the oppressor, and humble the haughtiness of the wicked; let the Lord alone be exalted in the sight of all nations.
¹⁰Deliver the poor from the hand of the spoiler, and break the yoke of him who spoileth the innocent; for Thou art the righteous Judge, and Thy judgments are true and right.
¹¹Be Thou a shield unto those who seek refuge in Thee, and uphold them in the midst of the storm; let their enemies be ashamed, and their hope be renewed.
¹²O Lord, remember the promises made unto Thy servants of old, and grant that Thy mercy may encompass all who trust in Thee.
¹³Though the wicked rage and imagine vain things, and their devices are multiplied against the just, yet Thou art above all, and Thy judgments endure forever.
¹⁴Preserve my soul from the snare of the fowler, and deliver me from the mouth of the lion; for I put my trust in Thee, O God of my salvation.
¹⁵Let the righteous rejoice in Thy salvation, and let their praises be as a continual sacrifice before Thy throne.
¹⁶For Thou art the fountain of life and the refuge of the oppressed, the rock of ages and the fortress of the poor in spirit.
¹⁷Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation, and uphold me with Thy free spirit, that I may walk before Thee in integrity all my days.
¹⁸Let not my enemies triumph over me, nor let their wickedness prosper; but let Thy truth be my shield and buckler in every battle.
¹⁹O Lord, make haste to help me, and let my cry come before Thee; for in Thee alone is my refuge and strength.
²⁰Therefore will I sing of Thy righteousness, and declare Thy faithfulness unto all generations; for Thou art the God who judgeth righteously, and Thy mercy endureth forever.
