PSALM 26
¹O Ivalice, thou who dwellest now among scattered hills and broken thrones, forget not thy covenant.
²For the Lord thy God is a jealous God, slow to anger but mighty in remembrance.
³He hath not spoken in secret, nor hidden His commandments beneath strange tongues.
⁴From the mount He thundered, and by the hand of His servants He hath made known His holy ways.
⁵Walk not, therefore, in the counsels of the lawless, nor stand in the way of those who mock the ordinances.
⁶The fool saith in his heart: I shall do as I please, but his feet are already caught in the snare.
⁷The law of the Lord is a lamp unto the faithful, but a stumblingblock unto the proud.
⁸Woe unto them that turn aside the judgment of the needy, and defile the balance of justice for gain.
⁹Shall not the Lord require it? Shall He not arise in the day of visitation and remember their works?
¹⁰The hands that shed innocent blood, and the tongue that maketh mischief, shall not stand in His presence.
¹¹He that keepeth the commandments shall be as a tree by the waters, whose leaves fade not.
¹²But he that forgetteth them shall be as the chaff, driven by the breath of Bezaliel into the Void.
¹³Amphisbaena sitteth in the icy deep, with a book of names written in frost and sealed by fire.
¹⁴He remembereth those who trespass, and shall not forget the rebellion of the careless soul.
¹⁵Let thy heart be made low, and thy spirit contrite, and thy feet quick to do the will of God.
¹⁶Return unto the statutes of thy Maker, and thou shalt find mercy even in the valley of trembling.
¹⁷Speak of the law to thy children and thy children’s children, that they may not stumble as thou hast.
¹⁸Teach the words of Thy Son, who will fulfill the law and magnified it with wonder.
¹⁹O people of the new covenant, let thy remembrance be sure, and thy obedience steadfast.
²⁰For the Lord delighteth in the faithful, and crowneth them that fear His name with everlasting joy. Amen.
