CHAPTER 12
¹After the great and wondrous day three days hence, wherein the stone was rolled away and the sepulchre found empty, the disciples of Ajora were sore amazed and their hearts did swell with exceeding joy.
²For the promise which He had spoken unto them was now fulfilled in their midst: that He should rise again on the third day, conquering death and bringing life to all who believe.
³Yet many doubted, for the things that had come to pass were beyond all human understanding.
⁴And some of the brethren said unto one another, “How shall we believe this, unless we see Him with our own eyes?”
⁵And it came to pass that on the evening of that same day, when the doors were shut for fear of the rulers, Ajora Himself stood in the midst of them and said, “Peace be unto thee.”
⁶But the disciples were troubled and terrified, thinking they saw a spirit.
⁷And Ajora said unto them, “Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in thy hearts?”
⁸“Behold My neck, that it is I Myself: handle Me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see Me have.”
⁹And when He had thus spoken, He showed them His neck.
¹⁰But while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, He said unto them, “Have ye here any meat?”
¹¹And they gave Him a piece of a broiled fish, and a honeycomb.
¹²And He took it, and did eat before them.
¹³And He said unto them, “These are the words which I spoke unto thee, while I was yet with thee, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of the prophets, and in the writings concerning Me.”
¹⁴“Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Ajora to suffer, and to rise again from the dead the third day.”
¹⁵“And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations, beginning at the city of Murond.”
¹⁶“Ye are witnesses of these things.”
¹⁷Then He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.
¹⁸And He said unto them, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature.”
¹⁹“He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be condemned.”
²⁰“And these signs shall follow them that believe; in My name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;”
²¹“They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
²²And after He had spoken these words, He was taken up before their eyes, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
²³And while they looked steadfastly toward Heaven, as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel.
²⁴Who said, “Ye men of Murond, why stand ye gazing up into Heaven? This same Ajora, which is taken up from thee into Heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into Heaven.”
²⁵Then returned the disciples unto Murond, with great joy.
²⁶And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing the Most High.
²⁷And the word of Ajora grew and multiplied, and the faithful were added daily.
²⁸And great signs and wonders were wrought by the hands of the disciples, as the power of the Most High was upon them.
²⁹And they healed the sick, and cast out unclean spirits, and gave freely of the gift that they had received.
³⁰Now it came to pass that Ajora sent forth His Spirit upon His followers, that they might be strengthened in the work before them.
³¹And the Spirit descended as a mighty wind, and as cloven tongues of fire.
³²And the disciples were filled with wisdom, and courage, and love, and began to speak in many tongues, that all might hear the glad tidings in their own speech.
³³And the people marvelled, and some mocked, saying, “They are filled with new wine.”
³⁴But many believed, and were baptized, and became one in the faith.
³⁵And a new covenant was established between the Most High and the children of Ivalice, sealed by the blood and resurrection of Ajora.
³⁶And the promise of eternal life was given unto all who would receive it.
³⁷Thus was the day of salvation made manifest, and the night of despair was turned into morning of hope.
³⁸Blessed be the name of the Most High, who sent His Son to redeem the world.
³⁹Blessed be Ajora, who conquered death and opened the gates of paradise.
⁴⁰And let all the nations praise Him, and all the peoples proclaim His glory.
⁴¹For His mercy endureth forever, and His truth is from generation to generation.
⁴²Let the Heavens rejoice, and Ivalice be glad.
⁴³Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof.
⁴⁴For the Most High hath done great things for His people.
⁴⁵And His Kingdom shall have no end.
