CHAPTER 5
¹And it came to pass, as Ajora journeyed along the dusty way, the multitudes followed Him, for they had heard the words of His teaching, and many believed in the power of the Lord working through Him.
²And lo, as He went forth, there came unto Him a woman, blind from her birth, who could not see the light of the sun, nor the countenance of her children, nor the beauty of the fields and the mountains.
³And though her eyes were closed to this world, her heart was open, and she knew in her spirit that the presence before her was not of man, but of the Lord God, whose power had made the Heavens and Ivalice.
⁴And she cried out with a voice trembling yet filled with hope, “O Lord, if it be Thy will, touch my eyes, and I shall see.”
⁵Ajora looked upon her with compassion, and He stretched forth His hand and touched her eyelids, saying, “Be opened, and see the glory of the Lord.”
⁶And immediately the darkness fled from her eyes, and the woman saw the faces of those around her, the colors of the flowers, the brightness of the sun; and she fell down before Ajora, giving praise and thanks to the Most High.
⁷The multitudes were amazed, and the fame of this miracle spread swiftly through the towns and villages; and the sick and afflicted came from afar, bringing their maladies and their pain before Ajora.
⁸There was a man who was lame from his birth, who could not walk nor stand; and Ajora laid His hands upon him, and commanded, “Arise and walk in the name of the Lord thy God.”
⁹And the man rose up, and his feet found strength, and he went forth praising the Lord with all his might.
¹⁰There was a woman with a fever burning in her veins, and Ajora touched her forehead, and the fever departed, and her strength was renewed.
¹¹There was a child with a withered hand, and Ajora said unto it, “Stretch forth thy hand,” and it was made whole, and the child leapt for joy.
¹²And the multitudes cried out, “Surely this is the Son of God, for no man hath done such wonders save the Lord.”
¹³But Ajora, knowing the hearts of men, spake unto them, saying, “These miracles are not mine, but the power of God working through Me; believe ye in the Lord thy God, and ye shall find healing and peace.”
¹⁴And He taught them further, “The sick and the weak are as the lilies of the field, which neither toil nor spin, yet are cared for by the Father.”
¹⁵“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy; and as I heal the bodies of the afflicted, so shall ye heal the souls of the broken-hearted.”
¹⁶And many of those who were healed followed Him, and gave themselves to His service, bearing witness to the power and grace of God.
¹⁷And among those who beheld these works were the twelve disciples, who marveled at the might of their Master, and were strengthened in their faith.
¹⁸Ajora said unto them, “Go forth, and heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, and raise up the fallen; for this is the sign of the Kingdom of Paradise.”
¹⁹“As the Father sent Me, even so send I thee; and whosoever receiveth thee receiveth Me, and he that rejecteth thee rejecteth the Lord.”
²⁰The disciples went forth, and healed in His name many who were afflicted; and the multitudes increased daily, drawn by the power of the Lord manifest among them.
²¹And it was told in every city and hamlet how Ajora healed the blind, the lame, the deaf, and the sick; and how the dead were raised at His word.
²²But Ajora warned them, saying, “Marvel not only at the wonders, but consider the heart; for the Kingdom of God is righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
²³“Be not deceived, for many shall come in My name, working signs and wonders; but they shall not enter into the Kingdom of Paradise.”
²⁴“Therefore, know the tree by its fruit; for a good tree bringeth forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil.”
²⁵And the people sought to touch Him, that they might be healed, for power went forth from Him to heal them all.
²⁶Ajora had compassion on the multitude, and did not turn away any who came unto Him in faith.
²⁷And He spake again, saying, “I am the bread of life; he that cometh unto Me shall never hunger, and he that believeth in Me shall never thirst.”
²⁸“As the Father hath sent Me to give life unto the world, so I send thee to be healers of the sick and heralds of the Good News.”
²⁹Many among the Pharist priests and scribes observed these miracles, and their hearts were troubled; for they feared that the power of Ajora would overthrow their own authority and false teaching.
³⁰Yet Ajora answered them, “The truth shall set thee free; believe in the power of God’s mercy, and ye shall find salvation.”
³¹“But woe unto them that harden their hearts and reject the word of the Lord, for they shall be cast down into the pit of destruction.”
³²The disciples were strengthened in faith, and their number increased; and they went about healing and teaching in all the cities and villages.
³³And the name of Ajora was praised among all the people, for great was the mercy of the Lord manifested in Him.
³⁴And the multitudes rejoiced, and their hearts were made glad, for they beheld the glory of God in the works of His Son.
³⁵Praise be to the Lord, who healeth the brokenhearted and bindeth up their wounds; whose mercy endureth forever.
³⁶Amen.
