CHAPTER 2
¹And it came to pass in those days, that a great wonder appeared in the firmament of Heaven; behold, a bright star, unlike any other, did arise and shine with a light that pierced the darkness of night.
²This star was a sign from the Most High, a herald of the coming of the Son of God, who was to be born unto the world to redeem mankind from the bondage of sin.
³And all the peoples of the kingdoms looked upward and wondered, for such a light had not been seen since the world was formed.
⁴Now among the multitude that beheld this marvel were three kings, wise men of great renown, who had studied the Heavens and discerned the signs of the Heavens.
⁵These kings were named Halas, Keran, and Balassar; and each bore precious gifts to offer unto the Child who was to be born: gold, frankincense, and saffron, symbols of kingship, divinity, and healing.
⁶Moved by the Spirit, the kings set forth upon the road, following the shining star, which led them beyond the mountains and deserts unto the town of Betalon, a place of poverty and hardship.
⁷And behold, the star did stop over a humble slum, where the Son of God was to be born, hidden from the proud and the mighty of Ivalice.
⁸Along the way, many gathered to witness this strange company, and a multitude followed behind, their hearts stirred by the promise of the coming Light.
⁹Among them were four faithful souls, who would in time become pillars of the Church of Ajora: Hashmal the steadfast, Adrammelech the humble, Zalera the scribe, and Velius the faithful.
¹⁰These four, though poor in earthly goods, were rich in faith, and they journeyed with the kings, eager to behold the birth of the Glabados, the Son of God.
¹¹And it was in the quiet hours of the night, beneath the canopy of stars, that the Light of the world was born; Ajora Glabados, the promised Redeemer, was brought forth into the lowly stable of Betalon.
¹²The Heavens rejoiced, and Ivalice was still; the star above shone with a brightness that illumined the hearts of all who were present.
¹³Then, as the babe drew breath, He performed a miracle that astounded those gathered: immediately rising to His feet, He spake with a voice clear and true, “Behold, the well yonder is tainted; water unfit for the children of God.”
¹⁴At these words, the multitudes marveled, and many who had doubted before were filled with awe and proclaimed Him the Glabados, the Son of God.
¹⁵And so it was that this small gathering became the foundation of His Church, a company devoted to His teachings and to the spreading of His word.
¹⁶The three kings approached and laid before Him their gifts: gold, symbolizing the kingship to which He was born; frankincense, an offering of divinity and prayer; and saffron, a healing balm for the wounds of mankind.
¹⁷Thus, the Child was adorned with the tokens of honor, though wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying upon straw.
¹⁸The air was thick with rejoicing and praise; angels sang in the Heavens, and Ivalice trembled with the joy of the salvation that had come.
¹⁹Yet amidst the glory, the humble labourers who had borne Ajora stood in quiet reverence, for they knew that this Child was unlike any other.
²⁰And the multitudes who had followed the star took their place as witnesses, carrying with them the news of the miraculous birth and the dawn of a new age.
²¹The word of the birth of Ajora spread swiftly throughout the kingdoms, reaching every city, village, and hamlet, and stirring the hearts of the faithful to hope and prayer.
²²From that night forward, the star continued to shine in the sky, a beacon to all who sought the truth, a sign that God’s promise was fulfilled.
²³Therefore, all who read these words are called to remember the wonder of that night; to behold the humility of the stable and the glory of the Child therein.
²⁴For the Lord Ajora is both King and Servant, both God and man; and in His coming, the promise of Paradise is made manifest.
²⁵Blessed be the Most High who sent His Son to dwell among us, that we might know the way of life and be delivered from darkness.
²⁶And may those who journey after the star, like the three kings and the four disciples, find their hearts enlightened and their spirits stirred to follow the path of righteousness.
²⁷Thus ends the account of the star in the sky, the wondrous sign that heralded the birth of the Glabados, the Light of the world.
