CHAPTER 2
¹Hearken, O King, unto the words of thy servant, for I write not in mine own name, but in the name of the Most High and of His Anointed, Saint Ajora.
²The Lord hath given unto us seven commandments, that we might walk in His ways and not stumble in darkness.
³These commandments are the foundation of righteousness, and upon them rest the laws and the prophets.
⁴Saint Ajora, in His teachings, did expound upon these commandments, guiding us in the path of truth and life.
⁵He taught us to love the Lord our God with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind.
⁶He taught us to love our neighbours as ourselves, to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.
⁷He taught us to forgive those who trespass against us, to bless them that curse us, and to pray for them that despitefully use us.
⁸He taught us to be meek and humble of heart, to seek peace and pursue it, to hunger and thirst after righteousness.
⁹He warned us against the lusts of the flesh, the pride of life, and the deceitfulness of riches.
¹⁰He called us to take up our burdens daily and follow Him, to deny ourselves and to lose our lives for His sake.
¹¹He promised us that if we keep His commandments, we shall abide in His love, even as He kept His Father's commandments and abideth in His love.
¹²But if we turn away from His commandments, if we walk in the counsel of the ungodly, if we stand in the way of sinners, if we sit in the seat of the scornful, then shall we be like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
¹³For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
¹⁴There is a place prepared for the ungodly, a place of darkness and torment, where the worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
¹⁵This place is called the frozen Hell, ruled by he who is called Amphisbaena, the serpent with two heads.
¹⁶In this place, there is weeping and gnashing of teeth, and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up forever and ever.
¹⁷The souls of the damned are bound in chains of darkness, reserved unto judgment, and there is no rest day nor night.
¹⁸Therefore, O King, be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
¹⁹He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
²⁰Let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
²¹As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
²²O King, thou hast been entrusted with the care of thy people; thou art as a shepherd over the flock.
²³If thou leadest them in the paths of righteousness, the Lord shall bless thee and thy kingdom shall prosper.
²⁴But if thou leadest them astray, causing them to stumble and fall, then shall the blood of the innocent be required at thy hand.
²⁵Therefore, set thine heart to seek the Lord, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments.
²⁶Teach thy people to fear the Lord, to serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind.
²⁷Remove the high places, break down the idols, and cut down the groves; cleanse the land of abominations.
²⁸Establish the law of the Lord in thy courts, and let justice roll down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
²⁹Defend the cause of the poor and the fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.
³⁰Deliver the poor and needy; rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
³¹Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily.
³²Thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
³³Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and He shall say, Here I am.
³⁴If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity.
³⁵If thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday.
³⁶The Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones.
³⁷Thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
³⁸They that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations.
³⁹Thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
⁴⁰If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on My holy day.
⁴¹And call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour Him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words.
⁴²Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of Ivalice.
⁴³I will feed thee with the heritage of thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
