CHAPTER 1
¹Velius, servant of the Most High and Apostle of His Son, Saint Ajora, unto Arald, King of Zeltennia, greeting and peace.
²Blessed be the Lord Everlasting, who sitteth above the seraphim, whose name is holy, and whose glory filleth the Heavens.
³From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same is His majesty declared, and His wisdom is as deep waters which fail not.
⁴He stretcheth forth His hand, and the mountains tremble; He speaketh, and the tempest is calmed.
⁵His truth is from generation unto generation, and His covenant shall not be broken.
⁶O sing unto the Lord a new song, for He hath done marvellous things; His right hand and His holy arm have gotten Him the victory.
⁷He hath sent unto us His Son, Saint Ajora, the Light of the world, that they which walk in darkness might behold the day.
⁸Through His passion are we reconciled, and through His rising are we made partakers of the Kingdom.
⁹Let every tongue give praise unto the Lord Most High, and let the hearts of the righteous rejoice in His name.
¹⁰Now unto thee, noble Arald, mighty King of Zeltennia, doth this servant of Ajora write with gladness of heart.
¹¹For the report of thy deeds hath gone forth into many lands, and thy name is as a tower of strength among the princes of men.
¹²Thou hast judged with equity, and the cause of the poor hath not been forgotten by thee.
¹³In the day of famine thou hast opened thy storehouses, and in the time of war thy arm hath been a defence unto thy people.
¹⁴Thy counsellors speak with wisdom, and thy gate is not lacking in justice.
¹⁵The stranger is not turned away from thy door, and the widow findeth rest beneath thy mantle.
¹⁶Verily, if thou continuest in the fear of the Lord, thy throne shall be as a tree planted by the riverside, whose leaf shall not wither.
¹⁷And thy house shall flourish as the lily among thorns, and thy children shall rise up and call thee blessed.
¹⁸For the Lord is a rewarder of them that walk uprightly, and His favour is upon them that seek His face.
¹⁹Therefore, O King, be thou stedfast in all thy ways, and let the law of the Lord be ever upon thy lips.
²⁰For there is no glory but of God, and no strength but in His arm; and blessed is the man that trusteth in Him.
²¹Peace be within thy walls, and righteousness within thy courts; and may the Lord guide thee in the way everlasting. Amen.
