CHAPTER 1
¹Velius, servant of the Most High and apostle of His Son, Saint Ajora, unto Eregalassadim, King of Murond, once of Avar, now sovereign of the western isles, greeting in the name of the Lord.
²Blessed be the Lord, who sitteth above the circle of Ivalice, whose throne is established in righteousness, and whose judgments are true and altogether just.
³He maketh the clouds His chariot, and walketh upon the wings of the wind.
⁴He bringeth forth the morning, and causeth the evening to rest; the mountains melt at His presence, and the seas obey His voice.
⁵He is the refuge of the oppressed, and the stronghold in times of trouble.
⁶To Him belong wisdom and might; counsel and understanding are His.
⁷He revealeth deep and hidden things; He knoweth what is in the darkness, and light dwelleth with Him.
⁸Praise be to the Lord, who hath not forsaken His people, but hath raised up His servant, Saint Ajora, to be a light unto the nations.
⁹Through Him, the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear; the dead are raised, and the poor have the Gospel preached unto them.
¹⁰Now, unto thee, O King Eregalassadim, I write, acknowledging thy steadfastness and valor.
¹¹Thy reign is marked by justice, and thy judgments are tempered with mercy.
¹²Thou hast not turned aside to the right hand nor to the left, but hast walked in the statutes of the Lord.
¹³Thy people dwell in safety, and the land yieldeth her increase under thy hand.
¹⁴The stranger is not oppressed in thy gates, and the widow and the orphan find shelter under thy protection.
¹⁵Thou hast honored the priests, and given ear to the counsel of the wise.
¹⁶Thy heart is not lifted up above thy brethren, but thou rememberest that thou art a servant of the Most High.
¹⁷Therefore, may the Lord establish thy throne in righteousness, and may thy days be prolonged upon Ivalice.
¹⁸May peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
¹⁹May thy seed be mighty upon Ivalice, and thy descendants inherit the blessings of the Lord.
²⁰Grace be unto thee, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Saint Ajora.
